The Labour and Employment Department of State of Gujarat on 22.04.2020 has issued a notification for special allowance to be given to workmen under Minimum Wages Act, 1948 whereby the government has directed the employers to pay their workmen special living allowances in addition to their daily wages(as prescribed), an amount of Rs.61.90 paise additionally be paid daily for workmen working in ship breaking, cleaning and sweeping works and barring them and other than workmen working in incense stick manufacturing companies shall be paid an amount of Rs.56.50 paise daily.
